At Salford Innovation Forum, we’re always looking for ways to support the people and organisations that call our community home. Sometimes that means providing workspace, meeting rooms, or business support. Other times, it means creating opportunities that help ideas grow into something much bigger.
Our podcast studio is a perfect example of that.
What started as a conversation about helping a young person explore an interest in podcasting has become a creative space used by businesses, charities and community organisations across the building, proving that the right support at the right time can have a lasting impact.
Where it all began
The story starts with the Rio Ferdinand Foundation and a young person who was passionate about podcasting.
Having worked with Artur on developing the Foundation’s online presence and social media activity, a conversation emerged around how they could support one of their young people in pursuing his interest in creating podcast content.
Rather than simply talking about the idea, they found a way to make it happen.
Working together, the concept evolved into a dedicated podcast studio within Salford Innovation Forum, creating a space where people could develop their skills, share their stories and explore new creative opportunities.

Turning ideas into opportunities
Since opening, the podcast studio has become a valuable facility for the organisations and businesses based at Salford Innovation Forum.
Available free of charge to customers, the space provides an accessible way to create professional podcast content, whether that’s for business development, community projects, thought leadership or personal passion projects.
But perhaps the most powerful example of its impact is the young person who helped inspire it.
Years later, he continues to host a monthly podcast from the building, using the studio to discuss men’s mental health and issues he’s passionate about. What began as an interest has developed into something with genuine reach and influence.
Most recently, he travelled to Munich alongside the Rio Ferdinand Foundation, continuing to champion the podcast and the conversations it creates.
From an idea to The Modern Man’s Way Podcast
One of the most inspiring outcomes of the podcast studio has been Jordan’s journey.
What started as an interest in podcasting has grown into The Modern Man’s Way Podcast, a platform dedicated to helping men get more from life through honest conversations around mindset, performance, and mental health.
Using the podcast studio at Salford Innovation Forum, Jordan has been able to develop his skills, build an audience, and create a space for meaningful discussions on topics he’s passionate about. His commitment to the podcast has opened up opportunities that once seemed far beyond reach, including travelling to Munich with the Rio Ferdinand Foundation to help promote the project.
Jordan’s story shows what’s possible when passion is matched with the right support and environment. What began as a conversation has evolved into a platform with purpose, helping others navigate important conversations around wellbeing and personal growth.
