Xn protel Systems Group Limited (“XPSG”) today announces the sale of its protel PMS distribution businesses in the United Kingdom (UK) and Gulf Coast Countries (GCC) regions, to Planet Payment Group (“Planet”). With immediate effect, planet will take over direct sales, implementation and support services for XPSG’s UK and GCC based clients.
XPSG will continue to sell, implement and provide support services for the full protel PMS product range in Australia, New Zealand and Asia-Pacific territories.
Greg Spicer, Chief Executive of Xn protel Systems Group commented:e
“After a highly successful partnership with protel in the UK and GCC region, we have decided to sell our protel PMS related sales and service businesses in these two territories. Planet, who combined with protel in 2022, is investing heavily in the protel product and services portfolio and already has a strong existing sales and service infrastructure located in Europe, the UK and GCC regions. We therefore believe it makes sense to consolidate the UK and Mid-East based protel PMS businesses, serving these two markets, directly through a single relationship. We are confident that the acquisition by Planet is in the long-term best interests of our UK-based and GCC clients and staff, who will be transferring to Planet, as part of the sale. We will be working closely with the Planet team during the transition period.”

“The sale of our UK and GCC PMS distribution businesses allows us to focus on our market-leading xnPOS Point of Sale (POS) product range. We are currently investing heavily in our North American market entry phase and this decision will allow us to devote more energy towards this exciting growth phase of our POS business in the USA.”
