The North of England Robotics Innovation Centre (NERIC)
The North of England robotics innovation Centre or NERIC for short is the brand new Robotics lab that opened last month, only seconds away from the Salford Innovation Forum.
Specialising in Robotics and automation, the £16 Million facility serves as a hub for small to medium-sized industries (SMEs).
Looking to design, test and validate innovation in this rapidly growing area.
The centre will offer SMEs a one-stop shop for developing/applying robotics and automation to their business.
It will offer access to;

Energy House 2.0
Energy House 2.0 is one of the most extensive tests and research facilities in the North of England.
Through commercial and grant-funded research. The Energy House aims to lower consumers’ carbon footprint and energy bills, Helping businesses to understand how effective their products can be in this area.
Within the facility, there are two environmental chambers each able to accommodate two detached houses. That can simulate wind, rain, snow and solar radiation to give an accurate simulation of the world.
In the chamber, they can recreate various weather conditions with temperatures ranging from -20˚C to +40˚C.
This unique facility will help accelerate the progress toward low-carbon and net-zero housing design, following the success of the original energy house.

Prosthetics and Orthotics labs
The Prosthetics and orthotics lab is a £5 million-pound centre designed to develop the next generation of doctorly qualified leaders in Prosthetics and Orthotics.
Designing braces, footwear and insoles to help improve the quality of life for people needing them.
One of only two institutions in the UK offering this program, providing a great learning environment leading to fascinating career opportunities.
