The Salford Innovation Forum Christmas party was nothing short of magical. With an incredible turnout from residents across the building, the afternoon was filled with excitement, laughter, and genuine festive spirit. From the moment people arrived, you could feel the gratitude and sense of community that made this celebration so special.
A Festive Salford Innovation Forum Christmas Celebration
The afternoon began with Christmas carols led by the wonderful team at Manchester City Mission, instantly setting a warm and festive tone. As the buffet opened, residents were treated to live Christmas songs performed by Claire from Salford Supply Desk. Her voice was breathtaking and completely captivated the room.
To end the performances on a high, Brian, founder of Salford Supply Desk, joined Claire for a brilliant rendition of Fairytale of New York. The crowd sang along, cheered, and soaked up the moment, creating one of the standout highlights of the day.
Throughout the party, residents danced, enjoyed the food, and took the time to connect with others from across the building. It was a perfect example of what community at Salford Innovation Forum is all about.
12 Games of Christmas Winners and Highlights
The Christmas party also marked the announcement of the winners of our 12 Games of Christmas. Taking first place was Salford Supply Desk with an impressive 155 points. Once they saw other companies stepping up their game, their competitive spirit truly came alive.
Their Christmas door was a firm favourite, featuring a giant elf design complete with a window for a festive sELFie. Their Christmas card was cleverly made and proudly gave school art project energy, with the whole office getting involved and clearly having fun along the way.
Community Spirit Across the Building
Manchester City Mission fully embraced the festive challenges, with Louise joining in every single day without fail. Arriving at 10am sharp, she not only took part in the games but also helped us by being our willing test subject as we set them up.
Her paper aeroplane was a smooth glider that flew beautifully through the air, even if it did not quite land on the table. Her drawings of the turkey and Christmas pudding became a real talking point around the building, with a few people even borrowing her plane to try their luck themselves. Although Manchester City Mission finished in third place, Louise was awarded MVP of the 12 Games of Christmas for bringing energy, entertainment, and encouragement to everyone involved.
We also want to give a big shout out to The Growth Company’s Restart Scheme, who showed up every day and threw themselves into the fun. One particularly competitive team member quickly became known as the one to beat in the snowball toss. The Restart team also won the aeroplane challenge by being the only group to successfully land their paper plane on the table, earning a well deserved 20 points after many brave attempts from others.
Coming in second place were Inspiring Communities Together, who got involved at every opportunity. Their impressive hand drawn Christmas card was incredibly detailed and helped push them ahead, along with their strong performance in pin the nose on Rudolph.
A Christmas to Remember at Salford Innovation Forum
Salford Supply Desk were present every day throughout the festivities, taking part in every challenge and earning bonus points by finding the secret phrase and racing down to reception before time ran out. They also fully committed to Christmas Jumper Day by sticking with their elf theme, complete with matching outfits and an unforgettable blue wig.
Over the two weeks of celebrations, the Salford Innovation Forum Christmas festivities showed what real community looks like. Seeing businesses support one another, get involved, and have fun together was the perfect way to end the year and made this Christmas one to remember.
